Hadhrat Yusha bin Noon عليه السلام

Unified in faith, let us remember Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام a beacon of courage, dedication, and divine illumination. Though his name is not inscribed explicitly in the Quran, he is fondly mentioned as the humble servant of Musa عليه السلام . Serving close to Musa عليه السلام ,he was intimately associated with the Revelation and the divine teachings, becoming Musa عليه السلام devout and righteous student.

When the blessed Musa عليه السلام returned to Allah, the mantle of Bani Isra'il's leadership passed to Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام who then became their noble Nabi. Guided by divine wisdom, Yusha عليه السلام led the Children of Isra'il back to the Holy Land, a land of promise.

The full story of Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام is told to us in a sahih hadith of the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, recorded in Sahih Muslim 19/4327. The Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
"One of the Prophets made a holy war. He said to his followers: One who has married a woman and wants to consummate to his marriage but has not yet done so; another who has built a house but has not yet erected its roof; and another who has bought goats and pregnant she-camels and is waiting for their offspring-will not accompany me … "
This Prophet did not want any person to come with him whose heart may be attached to anything else. This is a Prophet who is not looking for numbers but rather for ikhlas (sincerity).
The Prophet Muhammad, صلى الله عليه وسلم, continued:
" ... So he marched on and approached a village at or about the time of the Asr prayers. He said to the sun: You are receiving orders and I am receiving orders from Allah, O Allah stop the sun! It was stopped for him until Allah granted him victory."

Under Yusha's عليه السلام leadership, Children of Isra'il courageously faced the formidable Jababirah - the giant inhabitants of Jerusalem. The battlefield was ablaze, and the sun began its descent. But our beloved Yusha عليه السلام knew that victory needed the daylight to keep Jababirah from regrouping. Such was his faith that, pointing towards the sun, he boldly declared, "You are receiving orders and I am receiving orders from Allah, O Allah stop the sun!" And lo, the All-Mighty, Allah سبحانه وتعالى heeded Yusha's عليه السلام prayer, halting the sun until victory befell the Children of Isra'il.

From Yusha's عليه السلام life, let's remember - when you have Allah by your side, there is no need for concern! It is not the weapons or numbers that matter; it's having faith and Allah's grace. Remember and savor, dear listeners, Allah's mercy, as seen through the resilient, faith-filled journey of Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام
