Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal رضي الله عنه
Let us delve into the life of the esteemed Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal رضي الله عنه a beacon of knowledge, courage, and resiliency in Islamic history - a soul immensely loved and honoured till date. As Allah says in The Holy Quran, "Say (unto them, O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم ): Are those who know equal with those who know not? But only men of understanding will pay heed.” (Quran 39:9)
Born in the Islamic hub of knowledge, Baghdad, in 780 AD, Imam Ahmed رضي الله عنه was a man of learning par excellence. He dedicated his life to the study and collection of hadiths, memorized 1 000,000 hadith, 700,000 among them are related to jurisprudence. His ceaseless pursuit of knowledge led him throughout the Islamic caliphate, learning from principal scholars of his time.
Yet what sets Imam Ahmed رضي الله عنه on a high pedestal is not only his yearning for knowledge but also his unwavering stand on the principles of Islam. When he was tried during the Mihna, his principled stance on the uncreated nature of the Quran solidified his legacy. It was said that he stated, "The word of Allah is not created."
It was from his profound understanding and dedication that the Hanbali School of Jurisprudence was born, the fourth of the four major Sunni schools, extending his vibrant legacy in the fabric of our faith.
One of his many teachings that deeply resonate with us is his saying, “If you love that Allah should keep you upon that which you love, then remain upon that which He loves, and the good is in the one who sees no good in himself.” This quote is a universal reminder for us to elevate our love for Allah and deter from sin, however minor we might perceive it to be.
let the life of Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal رضي الله عنه be a guide for us, in our quest for Islamic knowledge, resilience when tested, and strict adherence to Allah's Word. As we remember and salute his rich contributions, let's pray that Allah grants us the same fortitude and will to stay on the path of truth, wisdom, and righteousness. Ameen.

Imaam Ghazali رضي الله عنه
Imam Ghazali رضي الله عنه , the luminary of Islam, holds a special place in our hearts. His illumination of the deepest corners of our faith has guided generations and continues to inspire believers all over the world, even almost a millennium after his time.
Ghazali رضي الله عنه born in 11th century Persia, dedicated his life to profound scholarship, not merely within the scope of jurisprudence and philosophy, but also exploring remarkable depths of spirituality and the conduct of life. His words were like gems of wisdom, spiritual in their origin yet deeply ingrained in the realities of life.
Amongst his many illuminating sayings, one that resonates deeply is: "Knowledge without action is wastefulness and action without knowledge is foolishness." It is a true testament to Ghazali's understanding that wisdom and action must work hand in hand to give life true meaning.
In another heart-touching sentiment from his spiritual masterpiece, "The Alchemy of Happiness", he beautifully reminds us of spiritual love : "By ‘heart’ I do not mean the piece of flesh situated in the left of our bodies, but that which uses all the other faculties as its instruments and servants. In truth it does not belong to the visible world, but to the invisible, and has come into this world as a traveller visits a foreign country for the sake of merchandise, and will presently return to its native land. It is the knowledge of this entity and its attributes which is the key to the knowledge of God.”
His captivating wisdom continues with: "To get what you love, you must first be patient with what you hate." Such words reverberate with an understanding of life's trials, teaching us about patience, endurance, and the journey to attaining what we love.
Imam Ghazali’s love for the Creator and His creation echo through his writings. His teachings traverse through the corridors of time, reaching out to touch our hearts, fuel our faith, and fill our lives with hope. He wasn’t just another scholar, he was – and continues to be – a guiding light, reflecting the radiance of deep spiritual understanding.
There are many touching stories about the life of Imam Ghazali that exemplify not only his wisdom, but also his humility, compassion, and unwavering faith.
One such story that conveys these characteristics beautifully is where Imam Ghazali tells us a parable of a man walking in the jungle. A hungry lion began to chase him and the man ran as fast as he could to escape. He noticed a well in front of him and jumped inside, the only hope for escape he could see.
As he was falling inside the well, he grabbed onto the rope and saved himself. He was relieved but on looking down again felt terror as he saw a huge snake at the bottom of the well.
The man then looked up and saw two mice nibbling at the rope, one black and one white. The lion prowled around the well, waiting.
The man’s heart was pounding as he wondered how he could escape from this. Then he noticed a honeycomb in front of him which had sweet honey dripping from it. He stuck his finger into the honey and tasted it. For a split second in its sweetness, he forgot about the lion, the snake and the two mice chewing at the rope.
Imam Ghazali explained that the lion represents the Angel of Death who is always close behind us. The snake symbolises the grave and its punishment. The black mouse and white mouse were like the night and day respectively which are always nibbling away at the fabric our life (the rope). The honey was like this Dunya which with its momentary sweetness distracts us and we forget death and the eternal life.

Hadhrat Yusha bin Noon عليه السلام
Unified in faith, let us remember Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام a beacon of courage, dedication, and divine illumination. Though his name is not inscribed explicitly in the Quran, he is fondly mentioned as the humble servant of Musa عليه السلام . Serving close to Musa عليه السلام ,he was intimately associated with the Revelation and the divine teachings, becoming Musa عليه السلام devout and righteous student.
When the blessed Musa عليه السلام returned to Allah, the mantle of Bani Isra'il's leadership passed to Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام who then became their noble Nabi. Guided by divine wisdom, Yusha عليه السلام led the Children of Isra'il back to the Holy Land, a land of promise.
The full story of Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام is told to us in a sahih hadith of the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, recorded in Sahih Muslim 19/4327. The Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
"One of the Prophets made a holy war. He said to his followers: One who has married a woman and wants to consummate to his marriage but has not yet done so; another who has built a house but has not yet erected its roof; and another who has bought goats and pregnant she-camels and is waiting for their offspring-will not accompany me … "
This Prophet did not want any person to come with him whose heart may be attached to anything else. This is a Prophet who is not looking for numbers but rather for ikhlas (sincerity).
The Prophet Muhammad, صلى الله عليه وسلم, continued:
" ... So he marched on and approached a village at or about the time of the Asr prayers. He said to the sun: You are receiving orders and I am receiving orders from Allah, O Allah stop the sun! It was stopped for him until Allah granted him victory."
Under Yusha's عليه السلام leadership, Children of Isra'il courageously faced the formidable Jababirah - the giant inhabitants of Jerusalem. The battlefield was ablaze, and the sun began its descent. But our beloved Yusha عليه السلام knew that victory needed the daylight to keep Jababirah from regrouping. Such was his faith that, pointing towards the sun, he boldly declared, "You are receiving orders and I am receiving orders from Allah, O Allah stop the sun!" And lo, the All-Mighty, Allah سبحانه وتعالى heeded Yusha's عليه السلام prayer, halting the sun until victory befell the Children of Isra'il.
From Yusha's عليه السلام life, let's remember - when you have Allah by your side, there is no need for concern! It is not the weapons or numbers that matter; it's having faith and Allah's grace. Remember and savor, dear listeners, Allah's mercy, as seen through the resilient, faith-filled journey of Yusha ibn Nun عليه السلام

Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi رضي الله عنه
BIRTH: He was born around the year 218 Hijri in Baghdad Shareef. NAME: His name is Junaid Baghdadi رضي الله عنه . He was known as Abul Qasim and he was blessed with titles such as, Sayyidut Taaifa, Ta’oosul Ulama, Zujjaan and Lisaanul Qaum. SHEIKH-E-TARIQAT: He is the mureed and Khalifa of Hazrat Sirri Saqti رضي الله عنه Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi رضي الله عنه worked as a skilled wrestler to earn his living. Following the custom, the ruler of Baghdad declared one day, "Junaid Baghdadi will showcase his wrestling prowess today. Who dares to challenge him?"
An elderly man, trembling with age and frailty, rose and said, "I will compete against him." The sight made everyone present roar with laughter, clapping their hands, unable to contain their amusement. Yet the ruler, bound by the rules, couldn't deny anyone willingly entering the contest. Thus, this elderly man was granted permission. He was around 65 years old.
As Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi رضي الله عنه entered the ring, he, the ruler, and all the spectators were shocked. The single thought echoed in their minds: "How can this old man put up a fight?" The elderly man spoke to Hazrat Junaid, "Hear my words." He whispered, "I know I cannot win against you, but I am a Sayyid, a descendant of our beloved Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. At home, my children are in the agonizing grip of starvation. Are you willing to sacrifice your reputation, honor, and status for the love of Allah's Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and deliberately lose to me? If you do so, I can use the prize money to feed my children and myself for a year, free myself from debt, and most importantly, show favor in the sight of the master of both worlds. For the sake of Rasulullah's صلى الله عليه وسلم. offspring, wouldn't you sacrifice your reputation?"
Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi رضي الله عنه contemplated, "Today, I am presented with a golden opportunity." With visible enthusiasm, Hazrat Junaid رضي الله عنه performed a few wrestling moves to exhibit his superiority, ensuring the ruler would suspect no collusion. Then, being utterly theatrical, Hazrat Junaid did not employ his full might so as to let the elderly Sayyid emerge victorious in the bout. In the depth of night, Junaid Baghdadi رضي الله عنه experienced a majestic dream. He found himself in the divine presence of out beloved Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم who spoke to him . "Oh Junaid," you have sacrificed your honour, your nationally acclaimed fame, your name and position which was heralded throughout Baghdad in the expression of your love for my children who were starving.
Our beloved Prophets صلى الله عليه وسلم perfect voice was filled with a loving warmth that touched the heart of Junaid. "From today onwards," the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم added, "your name is eternally engraved in the register of the Auliya, the cherished friends of Allah." Moved deeply by this dream, Junaid رضي الله عنه once an unrivalled wrestler, found a new battle to fight—a battle with his nafs, his worldly desires. Over time, he emerged victorious in this spiritual endeavour, and ascended to become one of the most celebrated Auliya of his era, a symbol of pure devotion and selfless love. Always remembered for his remarkable transition from earthly honour to divine recognition

Hadhrat Shahabudin Suhrawardi رضي الله عنه
Hadhrat Shahabuddin Suhrawardi رضي الله عنه
Hadhrat Shahabuddin Suhrawardi رضي الله عنه commonly known as Sheikh al-ishraq (Master of Illumination), was a prominent Persian philosopher, mystic, and poet. He was born around the year 1155 in the town of Suhraward, near Zanjan in present-day Iran. His lineage traces back to Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddique رضي الله عنه and at an early mastered the Shafi’i and Hanbali madhabs. One of his most notable teachers was the famous Sufi saint , sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani رضي الله عنه.
Suhrawardi رضي الله عنه belonged to the school of Islamic philosophy known as Illuminationism (Ishraqi philosophy), which sought to integrate philosophical and mystical elements into Islamic thought.
Suhrawardi's teachings were influenced by various intellectual and spiritual traditions, including Neoplatonism, Aristotelianism, and Sufism. He aimed to bridge the gap between philosophy and mysticism, emphasizing the importance of intuitive knowledge and spiritual illumination alongside rational inquiry. Suhrawardi believed in the existence of spiritual realms and luminous beings, which he referred to as "lights," and he argued that humans could attain higher states of consciousness by aligning themselves with these divine lights.
One of Suhrawardi's notable contributions was his development of a system of metaphysics known as the "Hierarchy of Lights." According to this system, the cosmos is structured hierarchically, with various levels of existence and beings of different degrees of luminosity. Suhrawardi's ideas about the hierarchy of lights had a significant influence on later Sufi and mystical thought.
Suhrawardi's most renowned work is "Hikmat al-Ishraq" or "The Philosophy of Illumination," which is considered a foundational text of Illuminationist philosophy. In this work, he explored various aspects of metaphysics, cosmology, epistemology, and ethics. Suhrawardi wrote in a poetic and metaphorical style, often using allegories (a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one) and symbols to convey his ideas.
Shahabuddin Suhrawardi's teachings and writings had a significant impact on Islamic philosophy and mysticism. His works influenced subsequent philosophers and mystics, including Ibn Arabi and Mulla Sadra. Suhrawardi's ideas continue to be studied and appreciated by scholars and spiritual seekers interested in exploring the mystical dimensions of Islamic thought.
"Awarif ul Ma'arif" is another famous book written by the Sufi philosopher and poet, Shahabuddin Suhrawardi. The book is an extensive compendium of Sufi teachings and mystical insights, covering various aspects of spirituality, philosophy, and ethical conduct. It explores the inner dimensions of Islam and offers guidance on the path of spiritual realisation.
The book delves into the nature of Allah the soul, and the cosmos, exploring concepts such as divine light, the spiritual hierarchy, and the stages of spiritual awakening. It offers practical guidance on purifying the heart, cultivating spiritual virtues, and attaining higher states of consciousness. Through stories, parables, and metaphysical reflections, Suhrawardi invites readers to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and union with the Divine.
"Awarif ul Ma'arif" has had a significant impact on the development of Sufism and continues to be a source of inspiration for scholars and seekers. It offers profound insights into the spiritual dimensions of Islam and serves as a guide for those seeking spiritual enlightenment and a deeper understanding of the Divine.

Hadhrat Bahlul Dana رضي الله عنه
Hadhrat Bahlul Dana رضي الله عنه
Bismillah , let us immerse in the ocean of tales about Hazrath Bahlul Dana رضي الله عنه
Bahlūl, also known as Wāhab ibn Amr, a celebrated figure of divine wisdom and knowledge. He was a blessed companion of Musa al-Kadhim رضي الله عنه , his soul carried an aura of spirituality and a heart bathing in divine light.
Bahlūl lived in a time of grandeur, contemporarily to the Caliph Hārūn al-Rashīd رضي الله عنه . Born into prosperity, Bahlūl chose the path of wisdom over material wealth. His wealthy background merely a backdrop to the enlightening path he walked upon. Despite riches, he sought and imparted knowledge, openly sharing his wisdom with others.
Bahlūl — a symbol of devotion to truth and pious living. His name still resonates in our hearts, reminding us of his unyielding devotion to fairness, knowledge, and spirituality. His life's path— a beautiful reminder of our obligation to walk on the path of righteousness regardless of our circumstances. He was blessed with the divine light of wisdom from Allah, and he chose to share this light in his unique manner.
He roamed the streets of Baghdad, utilizing every opportunity to instill moral values and to challenge the rampant injustice.
With parables and stories, Bahlool Dana reached out to hearts and minds. Bahlool Dana رضي الله عنه embodied resistance, wisdom, and deep faith, intertwined with simplicity and humility. One story in particular resonates deeply and is often told .
One day Bahlool رضي الله عنه was sitting at the corner of the river, and since he was useless, he was making some flower beds like the children were. Haroun Rashid's wife Zubaydah happened to cross by. When she came near Bahlool, she asked, “ Bahlool! What are you doing?”
Bahlool answered, “Making Paradise.”
“Do you sell the gardens you have?”
“Yes, I sell them.”
“For how many dinars?”
“For 100 dinars.”
Since Zubaydah wanted to help Bahlool in any way she could, she immediately ordered her servant to give Bahlool 100 dinars, which he did.
Bahlool said, “You don't want a receipt?”
“Write it and bring it.” Saying this, Zubaydah went her way.
Bahlool distributed that money among the poor.
In a dream that night, Zubaydah saw a big garden, the like of which she had never seen when awake. All of its houses and palaces were seven stories high and made of colored jewels and decorated with great style. The rivers were flowing and beside them flowers were blooming. Very beautiful trees were planted, servants (boys and girls) were all present and ready to be of service. Zubaydah was given the receipt, written in gold ink, and was told that this is the Garden that she had bought from Bahlool.
When she awoke, Zubaydah was very happy and told Haroun about her dream. As soon as it was morning, Haroun sent someone to bring Bahlool.
When Bahlool came, Haroun said, “I want you to take 100 dinars from me and sell me one of your gardens, like the one you gave Zubaydah.”
Bahlool said it was now 200 dinars, the king responded “but yesterday my wife purchased it for a cheaper price. Bahlul responded “Zubaydah bought it without seeing (the reward). You know what u are getting”.
Harun aL Rashid paid for it . Bahlul then threw the coins in the river behind him . After a while someone approached him and asked him:”why do you throw the coins in the river?”.
His response paraphrased : “ there is a town down the banks of the river where they have no source of income. ALLAH has given me permission to sell pieces of heaven , the money is thrown into the river , the fish eat the coin and the fisherman catch the fish with gold coins and that’s how they attain their sustenance “. ALLAH mercy Allhamdullilah .
Let his life inspire us to live passionately for the cause of justice and righteousness, and remind us to seek wisdom even in the unlikeliest places. Such is the grandeur of Hazrath Bahlool Dana. May Allah instill in us the wisdom of Bahlool Dana and guide us on the righteous path. Ameen!

Ameen!

Hadhrat Sirri Saqti رضي الله عنه
Hadhrat Sirri Saqti رضي الله عنه
Hazrat Sirri Saqti رضي الله عنه was a Tab’a Tab’ieen (i.e. he had met those who had met the Sahaabas رضي الله عنه , ie companions of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم
He was the Mureed (Disciple) and Khalifa (successor) of Hazrat Maroof Karkhi رضي الله عنه
He was also the Murshid (Master) of the famous saint Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi رضي الله عنه
Kindness
Hazrat Sirri Saqti was the Imam (Leader) of the Ahle Tasawwuf (people of gnosis) and he possessed in-depth knowledge of religion and spirituality. Despite his stature and knowledge, he was blessed with extreme kindness.
Hazrat Bishr Haafi (May God be pleased with him) said, "I never used to ask for anything from anyone but Hazrat Sirri Saqti (May God be pleased with him), as I was very well aware of his piety and I knew that he was always happy to give."
Worship and Striving
Hazrat Sirri Saqti performed one thousand Rakats nafil salaah (prayer cycles) daily.
Hazrat Junaid Baghdadi (May God be pleased with him) says, "I have never seen a more greater Aabid (worshipper) and Zaahid (striver) than him, and I have not seen this in anyone else, that even until the age of 98, the only time I saw him rest, was at the time of his demise."
Practice
Once some of Hazrat Sirri Saqti’s devotees asked him to explain the reality of Sabr (patience). He began to deliver a lecture on the topic. Whilst he was speaking, a scorpion began to sting him on his feet. Despite this, he continued delivering his lecture unmoved. Those, present said, "Sir! Kill the scorpion and move it away." On hearing this, he said, "How can I behave contrary to that which I am preaching.”
Once Hazrat Sirri Saqti said "Thirty years have passed now, and I am still making tauba (repentance) because of one thing that I made shukr (thanks) for." People asked what he meant, and he said, "Once there was a fire in the market place and all the shops burnt down except mine. When I was informed of this, I made shukr (thanked God). I then decided to make tauba (repentance), since by thanking God that my shop was saved, I felt I was better than my other brothers and that I was pleased that a worldly possession was saved."
Changing Lives
Once Hazrat Sirri Saqti رضي الله عنه saw a drunk person lying on the ground, calling the name of God. Hazrat washed his mouth and said, "He does not know that he is taking the most exalted name with his impure mouth."
After he left, the drunken man became sober. Those that were present told him what had happened while he was intoxicated. He was very embarrassed, and he began to curse his nafs (ego) and weep bitterly.
He said, "O Shameless nafs! Sirri Saqti has now seen you in this sad state, and he too left. Now fear God and repent."
That night, Hazrat Sirri Saqti (May God be pleased with him) heard a voice from the unseen which said, "You washed his mouth for my sake, and I have washed his heart for your sake."
When Hazrat went to the mosque for late night prayers, he found the once drunk man, now in the mosque reading his prayers.
Hazrat asked how the sudden change had occurred in him, and he said, "Why do you ask me concerning this, when God has already informed you about it."

Hazrat Maroof Karkhi رضي الله عنه
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Peace and blessings upon our dear Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, his family رضي الله عنه , and his companions رضي الله عنه
We take this moment to honor one of the predecessors of faith, one of the hallmarks in Islamic spirituality, Hazrat Maroof Karkhi رضي الله عنه
Hazrat Maroof Karkhi رضي الله عنه hailing from Karkh, a town of Baghdad, Iraq, was a revered figure, an epitome of Islamic mysticism. He was born in 815 AD in a Persian family during the time of Imam Hussain's martyrdom. He was a disciple and student of the venerable saint, Hazrat Dawood Taiee رضي الله عنه —a relationship that fostered a profound depth in his spiritual life. Learning from his mentor, Hazrat Maroof Kharkhi رضي الله عنه developed a strong sense of asceticism and detachment from worldly desires, which shaped his distinctive perspective on life and spirituality.
His life was a melodious symphony, a luminous path leading to the divine love of Allah. In the life of Hazrath Maroof Kharkhi رضي الله عنه one learns that the essence of Islam lies not merely in prayer, but equally in the sincerity and purity of heart with which one serves Allah's creation.
You see, Hazrat Maroof Karkhi رضي الله عنه lived his life embodying the spirit of the Hadith of our Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم
"The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind." His compassion was a gushing spring of kindness that knew no end. His heart vibrated with empathy for the poor, the needy, to such an extent that he was willing to part with his last morsel to ease their hunger. His dedication to their service was a testament to his Iman (faith), a beacon of hope shedding light on the lives drowning in despair.
Despite his spiritual stature and his ability to perform divine miracles, he was a monument of humility. Indeed, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "He who is humble for Allah by his heart, Allah raises his degree."
Hazrat Maroof Kharkhi life was an eloquent discourse on devotion, humility, and selflessness. His love for Allah, his presence in seclusion, his heart teeming with divine light even in solitude—the story of his life is a radiant chapter in the book of Islamic history.
Legacy, my dear brothers and sisters, is not about leaving something for the people; it is about leaving something in the people. And Hazrat Maroof Kharkhi رضي الله عنه has indeed left a beautiful legacy of divine love, compassion, humility, and service to humanity that continues to echo in our hearts.
May we find inspiration in his profound wisdom, be guided by his spiritual strength, and strive to cultivate these exemplary qualities in ourselves. Above all, may our lives encapsulate his profound teaching: to live in this world with our bodies, but to keep our hearts connected with our Creator. Surely, such a bond with Allah سبحانه وتعالى transcends the mortal existence, illuminating the path for the souls striving toward eternal serenity.
Wa ma tawfiqi illa billah. ("And my success can only come from Allah")

Imam Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه
Under the gaze of the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful, Allah سبحانه وتعالى on the Ziyarat to Imam Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه we celebrate the life and work of one of the most towering figures in Islamic jurisprudence, Imam Abu Hanifa. His life stands as a towering testament to both intellectual rigor and spiritual devotion. It is his profound understanding of Islam, his unwavering commitment to truth, and his deep compassion that continue to guide and inspire us.
Born in 699 in Kufa, Iraq, during the time of the Umayyad Caliphate, Numan bin Thabit, better known by his kunyah, Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه , was born into a family of merchants. He belonged to the mawālī, the non-Arab Muslims, who pioneered intellectual activity in Islamic lands. His curiosity about faith and its implementation led him to early interactions with the scholars of his time.
One enlightening occurrence in the life of Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه informs of his brilliance and his earnest pursuit of truth. It is well known that Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه, did tahajjut every night. He would spend his night reciting the Quran. He had a neighbor who was an alcoholic, and he used to drink a lot and sing love poems. This used to bother the imam.
But one day, the imam did not hear this man's revelry, so he went and asked about him. They said, "Oh, so-and-so. They took him to jail." So, the very well respected imam went to the jail. He was the most respected imam and qaadi at the time in that place. When the ruler found out the imam went to the jail, he asked for the reason and was told that the imam was concerned about his neighbor who had been arrested. So, the ruler said to release the man, and he was released.
The neighbor then asked Abu Hanifa why he did that, and he replied, "Because you have a right upon me as a neighbor, and I have not been neglectful of that." The neighbour soon became Muslim Allhamdullilah.
His life itself was a manifestation of humility, sincerity, and commitment to the pursuit of knowledge – a commitment that was motivated not by worldly acclaim, but by an earnest desire to serve his community and to seek Allah's pleasure.
Imam Abu Hanifa's رضي الله عنه knowledge was not confined to Islamic jurisprudence; he was also highly renowned as a theologian and as a spiritual guide. His school of thought, famously known as the Hanafi Madhhab, is followed by a significant number of Sunni Muslims worldwide. This deeply rooted jurisprudence emphasizes logic, reasoning, intellectual debate, and the inclusion of cultural contexts while interpreting Islamic law.
Imam Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه left a legacy which thrives till this day, a legacy that stretches across continents and centuries. The principles he laid down for jurisprudence have woven themselves seamlessly into the fabric of diverse cultures around the globe, enabling Islam to keep up with changing times while preserving its essential spirit.
In the corridors of such notable figures, brothers, and sisters, there is a valuable lesson for us all; it is a reminder that we are called to pair our love for Allah with service to His creation, to use the gifts and talents that Allah has bestowed upon us to seek deeper understanding and to better our world.
Imam Abu Hanifa's legacy is not just in his teachings, but in his character - his love for knowledge, his deep humility, his powerful sense of justice, and his striking generosity. May we all strive to imbibe these noble qualities in our lives.
May Allah سبحانه وتعالى guide us on the path of knowledge and sincerity, as shown by Imam Abu Hanifa رضي الله عنه. May He grant us the strength to serve our communities, following in the footsteps of our pious predecessors.

Hazrath Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, today let us take a moment to delve into the life of a man whose name became synonymous with humility, piety, and steadfastness in the pursuit of righteousness - the great saint, Hazrath Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه.
Hazrath Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه was a unique luminary in the firmament of Islamic spirituality, a man who was lucratively engaged in worldly materials but chose to abandon them all for the undying love of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala). He is known as Bishr 'Al-Hafi,’ where Hafi means the barefooted. This attribute traces back to his life-changing encounter with divine admonition.
As the story goes, one day Hazrath Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه found a piece of paper with the name "Allah" on the streets of Baghdad. Touched by the thought that people had been stepping over it, he gently picked it up, cleaned it, and respectfully placed it high in his house. That night, he had a dream where he was told, "As you have honored my name, so shall I elevate your mention in this world and the next." True to the vision, this incident triggered a profound change in Bishr, making him renounce his former life. He began to walk barefoot, which earned him the name 'Al-Hafi.'
Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه was the embodiment of sincerity and devotion; his love for Allah (SWT) was unsurpassed. Often alone during the night, he would be found in prostration, his forehead placed humbly against the ground, and tears would be his silent companions. Even his laughter held remembrance of Allah; such was the intensity of his love.
He was the living example of the Hadith of our beloved Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), "Wealth is not a surplus of riches, real wealth is self-contentment." Despite his lack of material possessions, Hazrath Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه always radiated a sense of serene contentment, reflecting the richness of his soul.
But it was not just his purity of soul, devout heart, or barefooted humility that made him an exemplar. Hazrath Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه was a testament to the transformative power of sincere repentance. Despite a life initially ensnared by worldly desires, his transformation reflected the mercy and compassion of our Creator, who embraces every sincere heart that returns to Him.
His teachings and life continue to enlighten us, reminding us that materialism is transient, and it's the love of Allah that confers true contentment. He also emphasizes that those who truly value the name of Allah are indeed precious in His sight.
May we all be inspired by Hazrath Bishrul Hafi's رضي الله عنه example and strive to emulate his humility, his unwavering devotion to Allah. Let us be reminded that no matter our past, sincere repentance holds the power to change our present and future. Surely, the lessons of Bishrul Hafi رضي الله عنه are as relevant today as they were centuries ago and continue to illuminate our path towards piety and serenity.

Habib Ajmi رضي الله عنه
Nicknamed "Habib the Tunisian" and "Habib the Ethiopian," and graced with the title "Habib," which translates to "The Beloved."
We speak today about the luminous journey of Habib Ajmi رضي الله عنه whose transformation from a thief, to a beloved of the Prophet embodies the boundless mercy of Allah.
A Dance with Destiny
Hadhrat Habib Ajmi's رضي الله عنه early life was a symphony of change, reflecting the dance of a soul seeking truth. Born into Christianity, the profound mysticism and spirituality of Islam remained unknown to him. As fate would have it, a life characterized by petty thievery served as his inadvertent initiation into a divine journey. Under the guidance of Hazrat Hasan Basri رضي الله عنه, a revered Islamic figure, Ajmi found the path of righteousness, embracing Islam wholeheartedly. His transformation stands as a testament to the power of repentance and the boundless grace of the divine love.
A Repository of Divine Dreams
Known for his dream interpretation skills, Habib Ajmi رضي الله عنه became an embodiment of divine revelation. His dream visions, viewed as unique insights into the unseen, epitomize the Islamic thought that dreams can serve as a bridge between the spiritual and physical worlds. His prophetic dreams further magnified his spiritual stature.
Wisdom offered in Silence
Speaking sparingly yet pointedly, Habib Ajmi رضي الله عنه propagated teachings brimming with spiritual insight. His teachings centred on solitude (khalwa), mindfulness (dhikr), and contemplation (muraqaba), essentials of spiritual growth. The principle of inner cleansing through solitary prayer and continuous remembrance of Allah marked his spiritual discipline, embodying the true spirit of Islamic ascetic practice.
A Shining Legacy
The legacy of Habib Ajmi رضي الله عنه is a beacon of light for Islamic devotees, illuminating a pathway towards divine love. His extraordinary spiritual explorations, prophetic visions, and his capacity to reach divine consciousness through intense personal discipline are hallmarks of his spiritual prowess. His life continues to inspire and guide many on the path of spirituality, a testament to his enduring legacy of love and faith. My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, let me recount the tale of two giants whose hearts, although dwelling in this dunya, were fixed upon the akhirah, the celestial realm of Almighty Allah.
The landscape of our tale is the thriving city of Basra. Habib Al-Ajmi رضي الله عنه, my brothers and sisters, was a man who held the world in one pocket and Allah in another. Over time, he emptied the pocket of the world, preferring instead the richness of supreme surrender to the Creator. His name echoed in each corner of Basra, his footprint becoming an etched testimony of divine devotion.
In this same city, Hasan Al-Basri رضي الله عنه, a monument of religious sagacity, graced the world of scholarship with his wisdom, lighting the path of believers with shimmering rays of theological insights that still resonate within the hearts of the faithful.
One precious day, as preordained by Divine wisdom, these two titan souls converged in the splendid city. As Habib Al-Ajmi رضي الله عنه entered Hasan Al-Basri's رضي الله عنه congregation, a hush descended. Eyes widened in wonder as they beheld the embodiment of spiritual renunciation.
With humble admiration, Hasan Al-Basri رضي الله عنه invited Habib to share his spiritual wisdom; a candle passing its light to another. Habib spoke from a heart radiant with sincerity, He said, "To attain the love of Allah, one needs to renounce the love for the world. To reach Allah, one needs eyes filled with tears in remembrance of Him and a heart that fears nothing but the neglect of Him."
The stirring impact of his message impacted on every soul present, including Hasan Al-Basri رضي الله عنه . The room transformed into a cradle of contemplation, nurturing the wisdom imparted by the noble Habib . رضي الله عنه
So let us, my dear brothers and sisters, take these pearls of wisdom into our hearts and strive to connect with our Maker, with a heart filled with His love and eyes moist with His remembrance.

Hazrath Salmaan Farsi رضي الله عنه
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, I address you today as your brethren in faith and fellow townsfolk, hoping to share with you the enlightening story of Hazrath Salmaan Farsi رضي الله عنه , one of our revered companions of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, peace be upon him.
Born in the ancient land of Persia, He was born into a Zoroastrian family, where he was taught the ways of fire-worshipping. But Allah, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, had a different plan for him.
Salmaan رضي الله عنه was a seeker, a man drawn to the pursuit of truth. His journey led him to embrace Christianity, guiding him towards the belief in Monotheism. This, dear brothers and sisters, highlights his first major shift, his initial stepping stone towards the divine truth of Islam.
Remember, keep your hearts open as we go through this tale of faith and perseverance. For as life would have it, his journey did not end there. On the advice of a venerable Christian monk, he yearned to meet the Last Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم as prophesied in their holy scriptures. But destiny, sometimes, carves a winding road for us. He found himself in the bonds of slavery, sold in the very heartland of Islam, in the blessed city of Medina.
Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم arrived in Medina. Hearing about the teachings of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم Salmaan Farsi رضي الله عنه was determined to meet him. In his effort to reach Arabia, he was waylaid and enslaved. He ended up in Madinah, where he eventually managed to meet the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم . Recognizing the Prophet's صلى الله عليه وسلم teachings to be the message he had been waiting for; Salman Farsi رضي الله عنه converted to Islam The compassionate Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم recognizing Salmaan's inherent nobility and thirst for knowledge, freed him from bondage..
As a companion of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم , Salman Farsi رضي الله عنه was much respected and contributed greatly to Islamic society. Notably, he suggested the strategy of digging a trench around Madinah during the Battle of Khandaq, a technique familiar in Persia but not Arabia, which turned out to be successful in the defence of the city.
After the death of Prophet Muhammad AAW Salman Farsi رضي الله عنه continued to serve the Islamic community under the leadership of the caliphs. He was appointed governor of Al-Mada'in in Iraq by Caliph Umar رضي الله عنه. He passed away in 656 AD (35 AH) in Al-Mada'in.
In his life story, we learn valuable lessons about patience, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of truth. Remember, my friends, sometimes the path to Allah is not easy. But those who truly seek Him, eventually find Him. May Allah guide us all on our paths just as He guided Hazrath Salmaan Farsi رضي الله عنه
May Salmaan's رضي الله عنه journey to Islam serve as inspiration for us all. Let it remind us that no matter how winding our paths may be, no matter the hardships we face, our sincere search for truth will always lead us to our gracious Creator, Allah سبحانه وتعالى
